Booking A Stay

Patti’s Place is a secluded log cabin retreat in Splice Creek valley, a few miles upstream from the Missouri River in Moniteau County, MO, near Columbia, Rocheport, and the I-70 corridor. It strikes the perfect balance between rustic and modern, with the chance to walk the trails and play in the creek, or curl up in bed with your laptop, good book or just watching the birds.

The cabin comes complete with a full kitchen (all utensils provided, gas cooking range, refrigerator, freezer and microwave), heating and air conditioning, full bathroom with handcrafted stonewalls, optional Wi-Fi and smart TV, a deck (looking west for sunsets) and a porch (nestled amongst the trees). Upstairs in the master bedroom there’s a queen-size bed, DVDs for yoga, tai chi, qigong & Esssentrics Classical Stretch, as well as a writing desk (with typewriter!) for peaceful, solitary work. Downstairs there’s a twin, trundle daybed in the living room that easily turns into a king for sleeping another couple at night, and a double-sized air mattress available upon request.

There are both indoor and outdoor accommodations, with a campground on site that has a full outdoor kitchen (all utensils provided), complete with an antique wood-fire cook stove and a custom made icebox (ice included), outdoor shower and tub (running hot and cold water), fire pit, and ‘deluxe’ outhouse. Firewood is included. There also are several electric outlets (for charging devices). There is a tent and an air mattress available upon request.

Including the adjacent campground, Patti’s Place comfortably sleeps three couples, with other options for camping available, including an outdoor bed with mosquito netting for those who’d like to sleep under the stars. Both the cabin and campground have access to a community garden, where whatever is marked in-season is available for guests to cook with. There are trails for walking or running, both by the creek and around a small pond, swimming holes deep enough for jumping into, as well as a playground for children and a labyrinth for meditation.

*Bird lovers take note: Patti is herself a bird lover, and feeds a great many birds!
